The Telco label ran from about 1960 to 1970, releasing over 400 singles and approximately 40 LPs.
Initial releases (up to about TW 3039) were actually on the Columbia imprint, with the first few releases only having the ZSP matrix numbers associated with Columbia. Telco continued the catalogue numbers from the Columbia releases, but introduced their own SP series of matrix numbers.
The vast majority of the releases were original recordings by the top calypsonians and bands of the day, but the label also licensed several recordings for local release including the first four releases by Lord Kitchener on the label and records by The Tradewinds.
Amongst the most popular records on the label were Lord Blakie's Maria (1962 Road March), Lord Kitchener's The Road (1963 Road March) and Conqueror's Trinidad Dictionary, one of the songs that took him to 2nd place (?) in the 1966 Calypso King competition.
